However, it was during my obstetrical rotation in 1998 when I became disillusioned with the medical system’s “management” of birth, finding it to be impersonal, invasive, and lacking in options for the birthing person to decide what was best for them and their babies. In 2000, I traveled to the Venezuelan Amazon as part of my internship, where I lived among the Yanomami Tribe and served as a rural doctor for three months. This experience was pivotal for me, as a care provider and as a human being. I saw how powerful the birth experience can be when women birth without fear, relying on their own intuition and surrounded by the support of their loved ones. In 2001, I experienced the transformative event of giving birth to my son, which inspired me to research and find the best options to welcome him into the world. His birth was an empowering experience, which showed me my strength and that with love and support, anything is possible. After the birth of my daughter in 2005, I followed my heart and started my journey to become a Certified Professional Midwife in 2006, with the goal of empowering women to create a respected, sacred, and pleasurable pregnancy journey and honoring baby’s arrival through the miracle of birth in a peaceful, loving, and compassionate way.

In 2007, I opened Sweet Beginnings, where I have had the honor of serving families in the Las Vegas valley and welcomed over 1000 babies. One of my passions is to travel and experience different cultures and ways of living. I love to do this with my family and also through mission travel, such as my trip to Ethiopia in 2013 to teach about childbirth and healthy practices during pregnancy and postpartum. My thirst for learning and embracing new ways to support the community has led me to solidify a more functional and holistic approach to midwifery and women’s health care since 2022, with the completion of the women’s Functional and Integrative Medicine Professional Training Program. My passion is to support couples in their transformational journey of parenthood with loving, caring, respectful, and compassionate guidance. During my free time, I enjoy exercising, hiking, dancing, traveling, taking classes, and doing fun and exciting activities with my family.
