If I could describe Marve with three words it would be peaceful, calm, and knowledgeable. I am a very anxious and easily stressed person, but just being around her would instantly calm me. This was my third birth. My first was an unmedicated birth in a hospital, my second a home birth with a different midwife. This was hands down my best prenatal/birth/postnatal experience. She treats you with respect and never forces anything on you. Everything is your choice and what you want to do. She truly cares not just about the baby but about the mother as well. I had severe postpartum depression with my last 2 births. This time, this postpartum period has been a joy. I honestly feel it’s due to the excellent care that Marve provides. I am forever grateful God placed her in my life.

What can I say about Marve? She is simply AMAZING! She treated my husband and I, along with our little girl, like family. I had my first daughter at a hospital and the experience left us exhausted, emotional and upset. Having my second with Marve and her wonderful team was the best decision we made. Marve would sit-down and talk to us for as long as I needed as she explained what was happening to my body and asked me how I was feeling emotionally. She cared about us and it showed. She would always offer me tea or water and made sure I was eating well and keeping hydrated (because nutrition is really important -- something doctors don't talk nearly about). She also educated us about a variety of topics, so we could make informed decisions, and connected us with great resources.

I am so blessed to have had her as my midwife. When it came to the actual homebirth experience, Marve made me feel strong and treated me so well. She braided my hair while I was having contractions and gave me gentle massages. Her team also helped me ride through each contraction, so that my body could open up. Right when baby girl was coming out, I looked at Marve and her reassuring eyes took any fear I had out of me. Once baby girl came out, she told us right away that she had a tongue, lip and cheek-tie (something that our last doctor missed on our first-born). We were able to take care of baby girl right away and now she nurses like a champ!

Marve was also wonderful to talk to during the postpartum period. Once again, she checked on my emotional well-being and supported the decisions I made as a mother. She is truly an angel. THANK YOU, MARVE!

Wow just wow!!! Marvely is absolutely amazing!! I previously worked with a lovely woman who went to Sweet Beginnings to have her very first baby. She said her experience was incredible and she highly recommended Marvely. I was actually born through a midwife in a water birth, so a natural home birth wasn't unordinary or scary to me at all. Coincidentally, I found out I was pregnant a couple months after my coworker returned to work from maternity leave and I just knew a natural home birth was for me. I had my 8 year old son in the hospital with an epidural and I can say it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I felt that I didn't have a say as to what was happening to me or my child, it almost seemed like a birthing assembly line! This time come around I would be much older than my first born but I never ever wanted to repeat my birthing experience in the hospital. I called the Sweet Beginnings office number from their website and Stephanie, the secretary was so incredibly sweet and welcoming. Every appointment at Sweet Beginnings felt so relaxed and comfortable. Marvely always explained everything in detail in a way my husband and I could understand. I really felt that I was in control of my pregnancy and Marvely was an amazing guide to help you along the way. She is so patient and kind, you really just feel at home with her. She is very transparent and very understanding. The actual birthing was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, I can't thank Sweet Beginnings and Marvely enough for their remarkable support and guidance through the pregnancy abs birth of my beautiful daughter. When it came to the birth, I felt completely prepared and confident with Marvely by my side! I recommend her all the time when anyone asks about the birth of my daughter.

Thanks to the sweet and gentle approach of Marvelys, I can truly say I experienced wonderful maternal care and a blessed homebirth. She accompanied me all along my pregnancy journey and was by my side during my birth, showing me emotional and physical empathy. Her advice and expertise are unparalleled. What an easy communicator she proved! I would chose her again, were I to become pregnant again.

Marvey is a gentle, knowledgeable and compassionate midwife. I feel so, so lucky to have found her and have her care for me during my pregnancy and deliver my son. I was well supported and cared for all during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She was there to answer any phone calls or texts at odd hours, and took her time to care for me at every appointment. This was my third baby and first homebirth (my others were hospital and birth center), and the care that I received felt the most competent, thorough and personal of all my births. My husband also felt the most involved and part of this birth. Marvey takes time to truly care for you, know you, and listen to you. I can’t express how much I loved my experience with Marve and her team and cannot recommend her highly enough. If this weren’t my last baby, I would definitely be seeing Marvey again! I have had home births for all of our children and had used several different midwives but for baby #5 I wanted to find a different one again. With every midwife I used in the past I had felt as if something was lacking. A friend had highly recommended Marve so after reading about her training and knowledge along with her medial background and great reviews from other mothers, I decided to make an appointment, for a free consultation. After meeting with Marve, I knew immediately I wanted to use her. I had used a midwife in the past that was professional and knowledgable but lacked warmth and compassion and vice versa but Marve truly is the whole package and has all of those qualities and more. Marve taught me more than I had learned from previous midwives re: nutrition, appropriate supplements to take, prenatal and postpartum care, etc.... She spent a lot of time with me at each appointment and I never felt rushed. She answered my many questions, as I had forgotten some things since the last baby! :) Marve has a plethora of information to help educate mothers during every step of pregnancy and for postpartum care. Marve provided a special postpartum care session including an aroma therapy/massage and also provided postpartum care to baby and me for 2 months after the birth. That was a nice surprise as the previous midwives did not provide that extra care. Marve has a very kind, compassionate, and sweet spirit which helps one feel at peace while in her company. I truly had a great home birth with Marve. Her assistant-Judith is also wonderful!! They are a great team! You would be wise to use Marve!! If we do have baby #6 we will return to Marve for sure as I would not have a reason to look further!! I praise the Lord and I am forever thankful to Him for leading me to Marve!
